CRUMP, Elizabeth Holt, 99, of Rock Hill, S.C., formerly of Richmond, Va., widow of Levis R. Crump, died December 31, 2014. Surviving family include daughter, Mary C. Newton; grandchildren, Shaw Newton (Gretchen), Wesley Newton (Anne), Ashley Newton Barron (Jason), and Jessica Crump; great- grandchildren, Avery Newton, Matthew Newton, Rebekah Fersner; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, three sisters and two brothers. "There'll never be another like Lizzie." Her tenacity and intensity to overcome severe obstacles, and for more than one half her life, her passion to live independently, and her faith, practiced with that same passion and consistency, are a powerful inspiration and legacy. She's left a dramatic 'inheritance' for all who knew and loved her. Her volunteer work for decades is a dramatic contribution to the church. She was NOT going to be unproductive, and sought solutions and results rather than a focus on limitations. She was a former member of Ray of Hope Church in Richmond, where she was a volunteer church secretary until her retirement in 2008, at the age of 93! A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015 in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 2275 India Hook Rd., Rock Hill, S.C. 29732.
