Eva Lorraine Bray Underwood, 97, passed away peacefully on January 23 at Westport Nursing Home where she had lived since 2011. She is survived by a daughter, Glenda Palmer of Richmond; her grandson and his wife, Justin and Tessa Palmer; two great – grandchildren, Arden and Owen Palmer.
Eve was born and raised in Neodesha, Kansas and lived most of her life in Overland Park, Kansas, and Table Rock Lake, Missouri. Eve was the widow of Glenn Francis Underwood. She and her husband retired to Winter Haven, Florida and lived there from 1983 until she moved to her daughter’s home in Richmond in 2006.
Eve was a legal researcher with the Kansas City Power and Light Company for 30 years. She loved to travel in their motor home and water skied until she was over 70. Eve was an elegant, vivacious and charming woman with a great sense of humor. She will be missed by all who knew her.
