

VALENTI, Joseph E., 65, of Richmond, Va., passed away peacefully at Hospice of Virginia in the Retreat Hospital on the evening of Saturday, April 28. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Ayres Valenti of Richmond, Va.; sister, Donna Zema of Freeport, Pa.; sister, Jackie Hamilton of Cochranville, Pa.; seven nieces, four nephews, and numerous cousins. He was born March 1947, in Natrona Heights, Pa. to the late parents, Eugene Valenti and Evelyn Raffaelli Valenti. Joe graduated from Kent State University in 1970 and served as a 1st lieutenant in the US Army with service in Vietnam. He was employed by 3M Corporation for many years as a Regional Sales Manager. Joe was the former owner of the Forest Restaurant and Taylor's Restaurant in Richmond. He enjoyed golf, gardening, and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved animals and was a strong supporter of the Richmond Animal League. Joe was well known for his extraordinary generosity, kindness, and consideration for the needs of others. The family will receive visitors at Woody's Funeral Home on Huguenot Road on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Richmond Animal League.
