Judith Jones Herr

She was preceded in death by, her parents, Margaret K. and Murl C. Jones; her husband of 28 years, Harry K. Herr; and her sister Margaret Dent. She is survived by her sister, Mary Lou MacCall; daughters, Janet Herr, Joan Hughes (Robert), and Jayne Dicus (John); grandchildren, Jennifer Boyd (Brent), Kristin Dicus, and Patrick Dicus (Alyssa); and great grandchild, Anderson Boyd.

She attended Centre College and graduated from the University of Louisville. After graduation she became a teacher at Hazelwood Elementary School in Louisville, KY and worked in textbook sales. In 1960 while on a boat trip down the Ohio River, she met the love of her life, Harry K. Herr. In 1963 the family moved to Richmond, VA. Judy was active in the Women’s Club of Bon Air and served as president from 1981 – 1983. She was also active in the Newcomers Club and the Newcomers Club’s gourmet group. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends throughout the Richmond area, travels around the world with friends and family, as well as sharing Elderhostel trips with her grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Westminster Canterbury on December 12, 2022 at 3:00 PM.
