

The Brooklyn, New York native lived in Central Virginia for the past 30 years. She was a teacher, a world traveler, an avid board game enthusiast and faithful member of Huguenot Road Baptist Church. Lois was loved by her large circle of family and friends. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Rev. Donald J. Simmons. She is survived by her son Paul Simmons (Bowden); daughter, Carol Doggett; grandchildren, Helen Grumbles (Drew), and Madelaine Simmons; as well as her great grandchildren Owen and Clara Grumbles. So many have enjoyed her lively stories and enthusiastic spirit.
Visitation is on Sunday, March 6th from 2 – 4 p.m. at Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Chapel, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, VA 23113.
She will be buried Monday March 7th at 10 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery, 1401 S Randolph St, Richmond, VA 23220. Her memorial service is Monday March 7th at 2 p.m. at Huguenot Road Baptist Church, 10525 West Huguenot Road, Richmond, VA 23235.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Huguenot Road Baptist Church – Sound System Fund, or to the Heritage of Sharing at the Ministers and Missionaries Board (MMBB.org).
