

Michael “Ross” Disney passed away peacefully at home on January 9, 2026 following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Dana Disney, and his brothers Rusty and Scott Disney. Ross is survived by his wife Lisa and his twin daughters from his previous marriage, Heather Disney (Tim) and Michelle Disney (Daniel) as well as his sisters, Julia (Disney) Wrenn and Cindy Disney.
Ross was born in Knoxville, TN, but grew up in Raleigh, NC as the oldest of five children. Ross studied Sociology at NC State University and took his first job at Mitchell Distributing Company in sales. He then moved to Midlothian, VA and embarked on his 38 year career with Baxter where he started as a sales rep and then became one of the top Region Managers.
After retirement, Ross was able to focus on his passion for writing and published a political thriller trilogy and subsequently wrote a fantasy trilogy.
Ross will be remembered for being a loving husband and devoted father. His warmth, compassion, humor, zest for life, easy laugh, quick wit, and sharp intellect will be deeply missed. He lit up the room wherever he went, and his warm presence was like a ray of sunshine.
Ross was a man of many talents, including proficiency in multiple musical instruments, vocal performance, fiction writing, and martial arts. He became an accomplished cook and devoted his adult life to the study and teaching of Biblical and spiritual texts. Ross lived his spiritual ideals every day of love, compassion, and forgiveness and this legacy will live on in all the lives he touched.
A celebration of life will be held at Woody’s Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd, Midlothian, VA 23113 from 1 to 3 PM on January 31, 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
