He was preceded in death by his father Henry Marshall Cole; Mother Lucille Mabel Cole and sister Alice.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Anne Owen Cole; Sons, Rodney Marshall Cole and wife Michelle, Richard Barry Cole and wife Teresa, and grand children, Savannah and husband Allen, Morgan, Elizabeth and Noah.
He was born, raised and lived south of James. Graduated John Marshall H.S. and V.P.I. with a degree in Civil Engineering.
His imagination was boundless and interests were many.
He was proud of his family and their many achievements, especially his wife's R.N. degree after the last boy went to college.
He had a love for all animals, especially his bassets.
His church years and associations were cherished.
He closes his earthly life with a confession of his many sins and prays for a promised salvation.
A memorial service will be at held at Westover Hills UMC. Woody Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the church or local S.P.C.A.
