Nancy Dodd Blanchard

BLANCHARD, Nancy Dodd, a longtime resident of Bon Air, Va., went to be with her Lord on May 14, 2016. She was born in Halifax County, Va., on August 23, 1923, and was preceded in death by her parents, Giles Samuel Dodd and Lillian Glass Dodd; her stepmother, Louise Roane Dodd; and her brother, John Douglas Dodd. She is survived by her siblings, Rosa Lee Ford, Giles Glass Dodd and Gerald Wayne Dodd; and an extended family of nieces and nephews from three generations. Nancy was employed by the Commonwealth of Virginia for more than 30 years, working in the Department of Housing and Community Development. She was an active member of Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church.

Her family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, May 20, at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow the service in Westhampton Memorial & Cremation Park. No procession to cemetery.

Her family would like to thank the staffs of The Crossings at Bon Air, Brandermill Woods and Gentiva Hospice for their care. A kind and caring woman, Nancy will be missed by all.
