Nancy Rosenthal

On the 7th day of August, 2019, Nancy Cortell Rosenthal was called home by her Heavenly Father. She leaves behind her husband of 40 years, Barry; her only son, Aaron; sister, Guadalupe; nephew, Jonathan; and niece, Jacqueline. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother, Vicenta Polo Cortell and father, John Cortell.
Born in Rahway, New Jersey, she was a graduate of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School, attended Union College where she met her husband, earned a degree in Dental Assisting and married in 1978. She started her family in New Jersey, built her first home in Charlotte, North Carolina, and eventually moved to Midlothian, Virginia which remained her home for the next 30 years.
She was a devoted mother, wife, and daughter, and enjoyed tending to her garden and caring for her pets and wildlife. She will be remembered by her community for her huge heart and caring spirit.
The memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Woody Funeral Home on 1020 Huguenot Road. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Richmond Animal League.
The graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Sunset Memory Gardens in Charlotte, North Carolina.
