Patricia Stryker

Patricia Ann Stryker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on February 18, 2014. Pat was born in Woodruff, South Carolina on May 4, 1945 to the late Willie Lee and Ruby Starnes. She and her family have been in Richmond since 1979, where she has worked as a social worker and Head Start teacher.

Motherhood and being a “Nana” have always been her first love, though. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years Richard J Stryker, Sr., her sons Richard J. Stryker, Jr., and Lee Stryker, her daughter-in-law Genie Stryker and her grandson Ian Stryker.

She also leaves her memory to her older sister Effie Medlin, her step mother Louise Edwards, her step brother Ronald Driggers, step-sisters Judy Wiggins and Patricia Driggers, and half siblings Willie Starnes, Jr., and Ellen Walters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Her family would invite anyone to honor Pat’s memory by planting milkweed this spring to feed and provide refuge for butterflies for years to come. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. Midlothian, VA. with a funeral service on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Winfree Memorial Baptist Church at 2:00pm Interment will be private
