Paul-Brian you were my best friend from childhood.. I have fond memories to carry with me.. I miss our phone calls give your mom a hug

Oh Mr. Dixon, I am so thankful to have met you 6 years ago. Your patience, support, guidance, and jokes made every day in GED class easy to go through. 

I only knew you for 3 short months, but without you(and Mrs. Sakponou), I would not have my GED.....and therefore I wouldn't have the life I live today. 

May you rest easy watching all your students live life to the fullest thanks to your meaningful lessons.💗🙏🏾

I had the pleasure of working with Paul at Atlee High School.  I usually saw Paul first thing in the morning, and he always greeted me with a smile and a kind word.   I remember chatting with him one day about his family.  His face just lit up when he talked about his
wife and daughter.  He was also proud of his students and especially his wrestlers.   My heart goes out to you, Kara and Kylie, and I hope it gives you much comfort to know that Paul touched many lives.  I will be keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.

even though I graduated a year ago . 2019. I still remember you and the hard times we gave each other.
I’ll never forget those times you helped me get through the year, you pushed me to be better! And believe in me.
After graduation I was lost because I HAD NO ONE TO ARGUE WITH!!!

My favorite memory with mr.dixon is all of them .no matter how he was feeling he always put the kids first ,mad ,sad or anything he really loved us !my first day in high school he made it the best !!!he always let me talk to him about anything I’m really going to miss you and watch over me .when we go back to school all im going to think about is you ,I’m going to make sure I’m good !

Coach Dixon was my high school wrestling coach for my senior year at Atlee.  He offered me a job as his assistant a few months after I graduated and I am so glad I didn't turn him down.  If I had I would never have gotten to know such a stand up, do anything for you friend . He had a great sense of humor. 
I'd spend hours in car rides to tournaments with him him laughing hysterically at stories I'd heard 2, 3 , 10 times before.   A lot of people have mentioned how he loved his wrestlers and I can attest to that.  He really did.   He went above and beyond his coaching duties.  He did things for them after they graduated that showed them that he didn't just value them for their athletic ability.  He truly cared about them.  I know he had a lasting positive impact on my life and many more students, wrestlers, friends, and family on top of that.  I am so sorry to hear about this but so grateful to have known him.   

Mr.Dixon I've only kbow him for a short while but he helped me through a lot and I am crying bc he will never know how much I looked up to him...

I am deeply saddened to learn of Paul’s passing.  I taught at Atlee with him and we became good friends while helping one special wrestler through a rough time his junior and senior year.  Every wrestler I taught told me that Coach Dixon told them he and I worked as a team to make sure they behaved and passed my class.  We had some great belly laughs telling jokes and stories, and also deep and caring conversations about how to help students.  He is in my heart, as are his family, friends, and wrestlers.

I am so sad and shocked over Paul’s passing.   I taught at Atlee with Paul.   We shared many laughs in the workroom many of us shared for lunch and planning.  I laughed so much with Paul.  Oh man, he’d get so worked up about things too...I remember this time when he got in an online fight with a testing agency because he put questions he found online at another school on his own website.  He got dinged for copyright and was just fit to be tied.   It was literally the thing we talked about for a week.  What a personality!  God Bless his family and our Atlee family.   I’m in CA now but Atlee and Paul have never left my heart.  

I had Mr.Dixon my sophomore year for world history and genuinely loved being in his classroom. Not only was he passionate and interested in his subject, we had so much fun joking around with him and hearing him tell stories. I became a high school history teacher, in large part, because of his classroom. I am so saddened to hear of his passing, he touched so many lives. 

I’m so shocked and saddened to learn  Mr. Dixon passed away. He was my 10th grade history teacher at Atlee and truly one of the best teachers I ever encountered. He made history so fun and was more than willing to answer my endless questions and research the ones he didn’t know. He cared deeply for his students and is a person I can confidently say inspired me to be a teacher. I am so sorry that more students won’t get to learn from him and be encouraged by him. 

Paul was a great teacher and coach. I worked with him at Monacan High. He had such disciplined and admiration for the athletes he worked with and showed all of them his great caring personality.
It is a shame others will not have him as their coach. I respected his comments and way he carried himself. May he rest in peace!

Paul and I used to prank each other at Attlee. I remember spending the bulk of one planning period emptying his TAB through a pin hole so he would find an empty, unopened can in the fridge. He retaliated by putting a handful of mouse droppings on my desk!🤣
I last spoke with him in February. I know he will miss his daughter .  He was so proud of the young person she was.

Paul was my son’s wrestling coach at Atlee High School. Sean had a close bond with him and has continued to keep in touch with him since graduating in 2005. 
I traveled with the team on many wrestling trips and witnessed how he interacted with those boys. It was obvious how devoted he was to them and their loyalty to him was unsurpassed. 
I am a retired teacher and know how teachers and students bond. I am forever grateful that my son, Sean, had the opportunity to be under the leadership of Paul. He was tough when he needed to be, but was always 100% in there for those boys. They will never forget their coach. 
My heartfelt sympathy for your family at this sad time.

Learning the news of Paul’s passing this morning breaks my heart. He was a companion and good friend to my older brother, Josh, who passed away shortly after their graduation at Ferrum. I know Josh was a positive influence on Paul, and to read the heart-warming tribute Paul’s student penned in honor of him demonstrates the incredible teacher and coach he became. Paul, I will miss hearing from you from time to time, receiving the occasional message of good will, and I will cherish those moments visiting you and Josh at school, some of them being pivotal to my own growth and maturity. Rest in  peace, brother.

Paul was a wonderful friend to my husband Josh and stood up for him at our wedding. He was a good man and I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Sending prayers for Kara and family. 

My life is better and I'm a better person because of coach Dixon. He taught 15-18 year old me the value of working hard and doing the right thing and he genuinely cared that I learned that. Every time I've had to push myself in life, his voice echoed in my head, and it always will.

So very sorry to learn of Paul’s passing. As my son Josh’s college roommate he supported Josh through life, marriage and death.  May they find one another again in peace. My heart goes out to Kara and the family. 

I am so saddened and sorry to hear this Kara and Kylie.  I have lots of good memories of Paul's time at Atlee...like every year when we got SOL scores and he wore one of Kara's dresses to entertain the kids.
