DIXON, Walter S., 95, of Richmond, passed away on January 12, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia P. Dixon; his parents, Herman and Sarah Dixon; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Donna D. Gainous and husband Douglas, and Beverly D. Abrams; son, David S. Dixon and wife Dawn; grandchildren, Angela G. Viar and husband Greg, Christina G. Seif and husband William, Amity E. Hill and husband Bryan, Sean M. Abrams and wife Cherri, Wayne D. Bragg and wife Dana, Ashley D. McQueen and husband Drew; seven great grandchildren.
He retired as Regional Manager of Southern States Cooperative to Lake Worth, Florida, where he resided until returning to Richmond. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, Shriner, VFW member, member of American Legion, and former German American Sports Club member.
Memorial services will be held at 2pm, on Monday, January 19, 2015, at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd, Midlothian, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
