She is survived by her two beloved children Scott Sekerke (Virginia Bennett) and Susan Sekerke (Lyon Ewell), and one amazing granddaughter.
Wilma was born November 10, 1942, to Lewis and Evelyn Cash of Newport News, Virginia, as the oldest of two. Lewis served the C&O Railway for 40 years; Evelyn was the pastor’s secretary at their local church. A lifelong athlete and sports fan, Wilma attended James Madison University where she studied Physical Education. She went on to marry, work, and parent, raising her children in Richmond as diehard North Carolina basketball fans (Go Heels!).
In later life she moved to Powhatan, cared for her own parents, and taught her granddaughter how to throw a ball the right way. She loved cats, anything caramel, sweet tea at all hours of day and night, and her family most of all.
Wilma will be remembered in a celebration of life ceremony at Bickford of Chesterfield on December 12th at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial gifts be directed to Daily Planet Health Services.
