

Winifred E. (Winnie) White of Midlothian passed away on March 8, 2026. Born in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, she moved to Norfolk in her teenage years and attended Ruffner Junior High and Maury High School. After graduation, she attended the Norfolk Division of the College of William and Mary and worked for C & P Telephone company.
Winnie married Dalvin Victor (Vic) White, Jr., in 1954. They resided in Virginia Beach where they raised two daughters and built two companies, D. V. White Construction and Beacon Realty. They loved traveling the world; their favorite places were London, Vienna, and Barbados. They moved to Richmond in 1998. After Vic’s passing in 2003, Winnie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, at home and at the Outer Banks. She spent many happy hours at LLI in Chesterfield, learning, crafting, and playing bingo. She was a great fan of the opera and of exhibitions at the VMFA.
She is survived by her two daughters, Victoria (Vicki) White Dullaghan and her husband, Matthew, of Midlothian, and Karen White Posner and her husband, Matt, of Cary, North Carolina, and by three grandchildren, Matthew P. Dullaghan, Jr., Katherine Sawyer Dullaghan, and Wyatt Jackson Posner. Winnie was predeceased by her husband, her mother, Eva Mae Hitt, and her beloved grandparents.
Donations in Winnie’s memory to the Richmond Animal League (RAL) will be greatly appreciated, as she loved her rescues.
Visitation will be held at Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, VA 23113, on March 13, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A committal service will be held at Westhampton Memorial, 10000 Patterson Ave., Richmond, VA 23238, on March 14, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
