

She was born November 13, 1939, in Butte, Montana, to Leon C. Lewis and Alice Rork Lewis. She was the cherished sister of John C. Lewis and Elaine Lewis.
Lenore graduated from South High School, the University of Utah, and earned her master’s degree from Brigham Young University. She dedicated her life to education and learning.
Though she never married or had children, Lenore was a loving and devoted presence in the lives of her three nephews, Pete, Steve, and Adam, whom she treated as her own.
A passionate University of Utah fan, Lenore attended most home football games for over 50 years and enjoyed following football, basketball, and gymnastics. A highlight was taking her family to the Utes’ first Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
Lenore devoted 61 years to the Salt Lake City Library system.
After retiring in 2019, she returned the following Monday as a volunteer, continuing her lifelong commitment to the library and its community.
She also shared a special friendship with Ranae Pierce, with whom she traveled the world many times.
The family thanks the Moran Eye Institute, St. Mark’s Hospital, the Salt Lake City Library, and the many friends who enriched her life.
Lenore will be remembered for her kindness, loyalty, and dedication to family, work, and community.
She is survived by her sister in law, Linda, nephews Pete, Steve (Heidi), Adam, great nephews Easton, Keaton, and great great nephew Summit. Great nieces: Kaylee (Guage) Sadie. Preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister and great nephew, Matthew.
