

Ann Marie Smith1958 ~ 2009Ann Marie Folsom Smith, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on December 12, 2009, after a year-long fight with colon cancer. She was born May 5, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Theron and Judy Folsom. She grew up in the East Mill Creek area of Salt Lake City. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 1980 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She was married August 21, 1979 in the Salt Lake Temple to Marshall Smith. Their family was blessed with seven children. Her life was dedicated to her family and the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was an avid student and teacher of the gospel. She loved to attend the temple and do family history work, and served in many church callings. She delighted in all wholesome things and her life and personality reflected the 13th Article of Faith. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, and encouraging the education and talents of her children. Survived by her husband, Marshall Smith; children Vivian, Monica (and Jeremy Bowen), Alden, Camille, Eliza, Calvin, and Lydia; sisters Jayne (and Ken Corbett), Rebekah (and Jamie Walsh), and a brother Brad (and Janet Folsom); parents Theron and Judy Folsom, and one grandchild, Samuel David Bowen. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the East Mill Creek 9th Ward, 3750 S. Hillside Lane (2600 E.), Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewings will be held on Tuesday from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the East Mill Creek 9th Ward and on Wednesday from 10:00–11:00 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
