Annetta "Anita" Lee (Hairup) Horman, a beloved and devoted individual, passed away on November 8, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on August 20, 1938, in Montpelier, Idaho, Anita was known for her compassionate and kind-hearted nature.
She was the cherished daughter of Nels Willis Hairup and Elvira LaPriel Hairup. Anita attended Fielding High School.
On August 12, 1957, Anita married David LaMar Horman in Salt Lake City. Together, they built a loving family, raising their children with care and dedication.
Anita was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she found community and purpose. She liked to write creatively. She enjoyed writing poems for all occasions. She enjoyed writing, producing, and directing plays, but especially road shows. She loved all her family and she referred to them as sons and daughters. Her favorite play was Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She loved watching the Golden Girls and she would leave the sitcom running on her tv all night long. She loved all sports, but especially “her” Utah Jazz. She loved playing all card games, but mostly Pinochle. She loved Bear Lake. She loved fireworks and passing out candy to ghouls and witches on Halloween.
Anita is survived by her daughter Linda Chaston (Randy), sons David Horman (Susan) and Russell Horman, her sister Shannon Buchanon, and her brother, Sherman Hairup (Cathy). Anita also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 brand new great-great-granddaughter, Rose Lee, who will carry on her legacy of love and kindness.
She was predeceased by her husband, David LaMar Horman, her parents, Nels Willis Hairup and Elvira LaPriel Hairup, her daughter Sharon Ramos, and her grandson, Jeffrey Scott Horman.
A viewing will be held on November 14, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, located at 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, UT. A second viewing will take place on November 15, 2025, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at Wandamere Ward, 304 E 2700 S, Salt Lake City, UT. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 11:00 am.
Anita will be laid to rest at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr, Millcreek.
Her compassionate spirit and faithful heart will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
