

Arnold was born in San Diego, California, on October 12, 1935, to Frank Morse Angle and Florence Millie Angle (Hawks). He was the youngest of five children: Madonna Louise, Frank Raymond, Evert Vern, and Lorna Darlene. He lived in San Diego and El Cajon until the age of 14 when his family moved to Bennion, Utah, where he attended and graduated from Jordan High School.
He was drafted to serve in WWII, but at his physical learned of a serious kidney problem. He was disappointed not to have the opportunity to serve overseas but did serve as an MP for the Army National Guard of Utah.
Arnold was introduced to Carol Westwood by a mutual friend. He eventually won her heart, and they were married on September 24, 1958, and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They shared 64 years together.
Arnold and Carol were blessed with four beautiful children: Shauna, Sheryl, Alicia, and Jon. After the passing of Shauna, their first child, Arnold, Carol, and Sheryl moved to Littleton, Colorado where Alicia joined the family. They later moved to Englewood, Colorado where they built a home, and their last child Jon completed their family. Later they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, then back to Colorado, and finally back to Utah.
Early in their marriage, Arnold owned a photography studio called Halliday Portraits. Arnold loved photography and became a master of the camera. It turned into a hobby that lasted throughout his life. He served a mission as a photographer for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he documented historical church buildings, and the structural upgrades to the tabernacle on Temple Square. His photographs have been in several Church magazines, and books titled, Gathering As One the History of the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, and The Story of the Provo City Center Temple.
Arnold loved to dance and taught dance at Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Salt Lake and at the community center in Denver. He taught ballroom, Latin, and country western dance. He also had DJ business called “Foot Movers.”
Arnold worked in the banking, insurance, and finance business. He worked for Avco Financial Services, Midland Federal Savings, and American Bankers Insurance Group.
Arnold was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served his church in many callings at a ward and stake level. He studied his scriptures daily and had stacks of note cards with scriptures on them.
Arnold loved to tinker and fix things, watch football and basketball, and take cruises with his beloved wife Carol.
Arnold was preceded in death by his daughter Shauna, his parents, and his siblings.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the American Kidney Fund or the Dementia Society of America would be appreciated.
A viewing for Arnold will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 915 East Peach Blossom, Sandy, Utah 84070, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
