Barbara was born in a beautiful little town known as Millville, Utah to Mariam Hincks and George Jessop. She grew up with her four sibling.
Lazare Youse (Walt) Lawana Larson (Frank) Richard Jessop (Maureen) and Robert Jessop (Alta Mae). Millville afforded the family to have a great experience of country living, Their Grandma and Grandpa lived behind their house and they would spend countless hours with them. She had very fond memories of time spent with her Grandma.
She went to Elementary and Junior High School in Millville and graduated from High School in Logan. She attended Utah State briefly before she and her sisters decided to up and move to the big city. Salt Lake.
She met and married Grant Martin in 1948 and they were married until 2006 when Grant passed away. She is preceded in death by her beloved son Rick.
Barbara and Grant began a life of friends, cheers and love. But most importantly family. They created a beautiful family.

She was a beautiful, strong, vivacious, magnetic woman with an infectious smile who loved cooking for her family and having spectacular holidays!
She has many “Nannyisms” her most famous quote is “Red Dog!”
We all have endless memories of Nanny she taught us many life long lessons to be strong.
Enjoy natures beauty. She had a green thumb like no other.
Positivity and loyalty. The unconditional love of family. She loved her children and grandchildren to her core.
Her grandchildren loved hanging out with Nanny and she was her happiest hanging out with them.
The family would also like to thank Truwood Assisted Living for the wonderful support, love and care that she received from Curtis, her hospice nurse, and the amazing staff. She had a lot of fun with the activities and meeting new friends.
She is a great example of classiness and love. She will be missed by everyone who has had the opportunity to know her and be a part of her life.
Her love will always be instilled in out hearts.
It is an honor to call you Mom and Nanny.
We love and will miss you every day.
Piece of a Poem -By Walt Whitman
I bequeath myself to the dirt to grow from the grass I love,
If you want me again look for me under the boot soles.
You will hardly know who I am or what I mean,
But I shall be good health to you nevertheless,
And filter and fibre your blood.
Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged,
Missing me one place search another,
I stop somewhere waiting for you.
