My wonderful parents were Edward and Dorothy McQueen Stenzel. I attended East High School and the University of Utah. I worked at Bryce Canyon, Sears and St. Mark’s Hospital as secretary to the Pathologist. I married Harry A. (Bud) Peterson April 18, 1950, we had six children. In 1961 after the deaths of my grandfather and father we continued the O. Stenzel Mfg. Company as Peterson’s Commercial Parts and Service, for restaurant equipment. After the sale of the company in 2000 I was able to continue working for my son’s business National Equipment Corporation, distribution of restaurant and deli equipment. I was privileged to work all these years with five of my children.
I was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in Primary, Relief Society and Gospel Doctrine. My later years were enjoyed living at The Wentworth at Coventry in Cottonwood Heights. I loved the friendships that I found here at Coventry and being a part of the Cottonwood Heights 8th Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints.
The greatest joy in my life was my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
I am survived by sons Andy (Laurie Jess), Donald (Carrie Worthen), daughters Jodie (Lee) Whitehead, Margaret (Brent) McBride, son-in –law Jerren Engel and 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, sister Kathy (Bo) Lee, sister-in-law Peggy Burns, nieces and nephews. I was proceeded in death by my husband, daughter and son-in-law Jenny and John Gagnier, daughter Christine Engel, daughter-in-law Debbie Peterson, parents, brothers Donald and Denny, in-laws Margaret and Andrew Peterson, and brother-in-law Peter Peterson.
At my request there will only be private services for family.
The family would like to thank Symbii Hospice for the respect and care for mom the last few weeks of her life.
