On September 19, 2012 the world lost a gentle and loving man. L. William Peirce, Jr. (Bill) passed away at the young age of 91. Bill was a man of integrity, generosity, humor, and kindness. He was born on July 14, 1921 to Leslie William Peirce Sr. and Jennie Pett Peirce in Brigham City, Utah. He lived in Salt Lake City and Sandy, Utah for most of his life.
Bill married the love of his life, Kathleen M. Critchley on August 26, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Bill was a very patriotic man and served with honor in the army during WWII. He worked as Logistics Manager at Hill Air Force Base for 32 years and retired in 1974. Bill traveled extensively with his job and on vacation with his beautiful wife. His final trip was to Kenya, Africa on camera safari at the age of 85. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in the Elders Quorum, the Bishopric, and many other callings. He had many friends throughout his life that brought him great joy. Our thanks to the "mall walkers" for all the love and support and good conversation over the years.
He will be dearly missed by his children Cheryl (Steve), Margie (Rick), Bill (Cheryl), and Lori. Also his 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, his parents, a sister (Bernice), and brother (Jim).
We want to thank the wonderful people at Millcreek Hospice and Alta Ridge Assisted Living Center in Sandy where he was loved and well cared for. Thank you Thomas, Elise, Lisa, and all the other kind caregivers for making dad happy in his final years.
