Brad came into this world with big green eyes full of hope and wonder. Always with scraped knees from his adventures, he was what every parent dreams of in a little boy—happy, healthy, curious, and full of life.
Strong-willed and stubborn from the start, Brad was the firstborn of five children and naturally took on a leadership role among his siblings. Each of them shared a unique bond with him, built through years of laughter, challenges, and memories that will be cherished forever.
Brad immersed himself in sports throughout his life. In high school, he was a standout athlete in football and wrestling at Cottonwood High School. He also loved being a part of the Highland Rugby Program. He formed a close brotherhood of friends who remained lifelong examples and connections. At the University of Utah, he joined the Beta fraternity, expanding his circle of friends and exemplifying loyalty, teamwork, and leadership.
On May 20, 2006, Brad married Kara Nelson. (Later divorced).
In 2010, Brad met Gentry Hill (deceased) and together they brought two beautiful boys into the world. He was the proud father of two amazing sons, Cannon and Cash Lauro, who brought immense joy to his life. He watched them grow from afar, proud of the young men they are becoming, and his love for them never wavered. He cherished the moments they shared, and we know that he wanted deeply to do right by them.
After college, Brad pursued his dream of becoming an electrician and poured his heart into earning his journeyman status. Recently out of rehab, he had just started a job at JT Electric and was excited about his new work and the future he was building. Over the past eight months, he had found sobriety, worked hard to rebuild his life, re-engaged with school and career goals, and carried hope and determination for what was ahead. His progress and resilience brought pride and hope to his family, making this loss all the more heartbreaking.
Brad was deeply loved by his family, especially his mother, who he so affectionately called “Ma.” She stood by him with unwavering love, strength, compassion, and hope, supporting him through his struggles and loving him unconditionally.
Brad faced a long and difficult battle with addiction and his mental health, struggles that shaped much of his adult life. While it was part of his story, it never defined the depth of his heart, his sense of humor, or his love for those around him. After years of carrying this pain, he has now found peace, free from the burdens that weighed on him for so long.
Brad is survived by his his father; William Lauro, (Debbie), mother; Melissa Cannon Fuller (Todd), his siblings; Ryan Lauro, Lindsay Lauro Behunin (Kelly), Daniel Lauro, and Allie Lauro Lake, as well as his two sons; Cannon (15) and Cash (12) Lauro. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Gentry Hill, and many loving grandparents. His Grandma Lauro passing just weeks before him.
A funeral service will be held to honor Brad on Friday, April 17th at 2:00pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 Highland Dr. SLC, UT.
All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by showing kindness to others, work towards an understanding that life is full of challenges and heartache, and to look for opportunities to lift one another.
Brad will be deeply missed and forever loved.
