On November 30, 2021, beloved Wife, Mom, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Catherine Livingston passed away. She was surrounded by family at her passing. She had celebrated her 88th birthday earlier that month.
Catherine was born on November 19, 1933 in Rupert, Idaho to George and Lillian Bagnall. She grew up on the family farm, tending to the animals and the crops. She and her sisters often had to help prepare meals for the farm hands during harvest season and help mom deliver them out in the fields. She graduated from Rupert High School and then moved to Boise, Idaho where she enrolled in some business courses. She met and married John MClancy. They relocated to Queens, New York for 8 years, then to Salt Lake City Utah were they later divorced. They had two children, Kathleen and Kevin.
Cathy was a single mom so she landed a job at JCPenney, and worked hard to care or her family. She took the bus to and from work each day and always had a hot meal on the table for dinner. She then got a job at USF&G insurance, where she worked for 23 years. She enjoyed sewing and made a lot of clothes for her daughter. She was proud of her son playing sports at school. He participated in basketball, football and baseball. She also enjoyed crocheting and crewel embroidery, making lovely pieces.
She married Wayne Livingston on Oct 17, 1970. He had 2 sons, Dan and Roger, so her family doubled in size. The boys kept her on her toes, for sure. They enjoyed fishing trips, tending to their yard, and Jazz games in the early days. Wayne died on their 50th wedding Anniversary, October 17, 2020 with her by his side.
Cathy and Wayne were so happy to host the wedding of Kevin and Ying in their backyard on September 22, 2012. They were glad to welcome Ying and her daughter, JiaoJiao into the family. They lived in Alabama and their visits here were looked forward to. They spent time relaxing and making memories with family. She spent time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always looked forward to Jessica doing her hair and their talks. Sara would visit often, going to Village Inn with them for breakfast. Cathy gave Sara a small angel to watch over her when Sara moved to Florida. In the later years, Rylan and Adalyn helped with yardwork. There was an apple tree in the backyard that all the kids and grandkids have climbed at one time or another. Adalyn would pick up the apples so Rylan could mow the lawn. More often than not, there was apple throwing going on that made the grandparents smile.
Cathy is survived by her daughter, Kathleen "Kathy" Snitkoff, sons, Kevin McClancy (Ying), Dan Livingston (Kim), Roger Livingston (Jodi), Grandchildren, Jessica, Sara (Bobby), JiaoJiao, Andrew (Aubrey), Kayla, Taylor, Ian(Susan), Braydon, Brittany(Cody), Collin(Shawnday).
Great-grandchildren, Rylan, Adalyn, Reif, Brentley, and Elle Mae.
Catherine is survived by her sister Faye Scavone. Preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, her parents, sister Helen, brother, Norman.
Catherine spent the last year or so at St. Joseph's Villas where she was well cared for and made friends with the nurses and physical therapists. A big thank you to their staff for their care of Catherine.
