Cherie Giselle Tezak, “Cherie-B” was born June 6, 1981, in Salt Lake City, Utah. On June 7, 2022, just one day after her 41st birthday, although she would tell you she was 28, she spread her wings and took her final breath in passing to be reunited with her Gramma and Grandpa, Florence and Alfred Gene Dye, her cousins Zack, Zander, Morganne, Grandma Tezak, and her sweet love and friend Mark Preece.
Cherie had the biggest, softest heart and hugs. If you have a picture with her, it was usually her arms wrapped around you in a hug. She was without guile in life. Her gramma would always say, “Cherie has the heart of a child.” She was the “Tender Heart Bear.” She loved all her family very much especially her mom Carol, dad Paul, brother Clarke, and her little dog, “Boots” Bootski at home. She was never shy of saying she loved you.
Cherie had unique gifts and talents with people. She was always willing to go the extra mile with them, feel their pains and their sorrows; bear and cheer them up. She was always there for everybody.
Cherie had a great passion and love of all different kind of things: her idol and hero, G-Easy, 80’s Music, Futurama, movies like “Clueless”, “Valley Girl”, “Say Anything” and “Romy & Michelle’s High School Reunion.” She was a huge sports fan of Joe Montana, the San Francisco 49ers, history, trivia, the stars, science, God, astronomy, Target, Lagoon, July 4th with her family at Rex’s, doing stuff with her aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, and songs, “She’s Like the Wind” by Patrick Swayze and “Angel” by G-Easy and just about everything he sang. If anyone knew Cherie, they couldn’t think about her without the word “Barbies” coming to mind; she had quite a collection and knew how to play and talk them up. She was all about the pink, the princess, the glitz, and the glamour. If it sparkled, she loved it, if it was pink, she loved it, and if it was “Hello Kitty” she really loved it. If anyone got a text or message from her it wasn’t short of emojis, stickers and gifs bearing hugs, hearts, pink, kisses, love, and an “Eeew Sick!” comment if you were lucky. She wrote the way she talked so her voice is forever in her words.
She loved her dad’s *better than any restaurant* meals, and eating with her family, and lil Bootski girl. She loved spring and always “hopeful that tulips will soon bloom” in the midst of spring snowstorms.
In her own words, “Life's many things, but it's true our time with others we care and love and make memories and smiles with which is what life's meaning and beauty are... in my own soulful opinion.” What she knew best was how to love others.
She is missed, remembered, cherished but never forgotten by many family members; her parents, Paul and Carol Tezak, brother Clarke, “her girl” dog, lil Bootski, sister Heidi Rugg, sister-in-law Robin White, nephews Quinton and Dymitri Rugg. She had many aunts, uncles and cousins; uncle, Tony Tezak, her aunt/big sis, Sheri Dye, cousins, Davis (Ashley) Dye and Ronalee and Daphney, uncle and aunt, Jim and Debbie Dye, cousins,“Grandma’s little girls”, Chelsea (Spencer) Dye-Woolley and James and Mada, Kimber (Kade) Walton and Dylan and Mack, and Rebecca “the dot” (Parley) Williams and Abigail, Elizabeth, Lucille, Jacob, Brigham, Lillian, Evelyn and Emmaline, aunts and uncles, Marc (Michelle) Dye, Jeannie Dye, Marian (Scott) Andersen, Mark (Janis) Tezak, Matt Tezak, Kathryn Barton, Catherine Tezak, Charlotte Free, Laurellen Webb, and cousins, Christopher (Caroline) Dye and Cate, Michael (Shannon) Dye and Emiko, Jonathan (Sara) Dye, Courtney (Isabela) Andersen and Amelia, Jenny, Philip and Betsy Tezak, Jake Tezak, Lexi, Gillette, and Corbin Barton, and Don Brown. She had so many wonderful cousins, aunts, uncles whom she always thought of, and special friends, Chrissy, Jackie, Brax, and Angie who will always have her forever in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Alfred and Florence Dye, Anthony and Helen Tezak, and Gordon and Lily Metteauer, cousins, Zack Tezak, Zander Tezak, and Morganne Jayme Dye, her biological father, Gary Metteauer, uncle, Richard Barton, and her love, Mark Preece.
She will always be Henry Alfred Kissinger to her dad. We love you Cherie-B, only farewell hugs but never goodbyes!
