

Born May 15, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri to David James Lamb and Mabel Beaman Lamb. Married Sandra Lea Strong, November 17, 1961 in Overland Park, Kansas. Elder and long time member of Cottonwood Presbyterian Church in Murray, Utah
Dave served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956 as an Aerographer’s mate. He retired from the National Weather Service in 1994 after 38 years of service. Early in his NWS career Dave spent 5 years on the “Pacific Weather Project” sailing aboard Coast Guard and Military Sea Transportation Service vessels across the Pacific and in the Arctic. After leaving he PWP, Dave had assignments in Fort Huachuca and San Francisco before settling in Salt Lake City in 1962. After retirement Dave participated as a “supernumero” with the Utah Opera Company in 21 operas. Dave was a licensed private pilot and certified master SCUBA diver.
Preceded in death by his wife Sandra, his parents, and an infant daughter. Dave is survived by his children Jeffrey (Angela), Amy Seely (Paul), grandchildren Christopher (Chelsie), Jenifer Shepherd (Derrick), Spencer (Rachael) and Zachary Lamb, great grandchildren Rylee, Kennedy, Cooper, Everly, Lincoln, Finley and sister Georgia R. Turek. Also survived by 5 step grandchildren and 16 step great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Saturday August 9, 2025 @ 10:00 am, at Cottonwood Presbyterian Church, 1580 Vine Street. Rather than flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Cottonwood Church Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice.
