

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Dorothy L. "Lisa" Wheeldon passed away in West Jordan, UT on June 22, 2013.
She was born to Oscar H. and Mary Shepard Short on July 22, 1928 in Pocatello, Idaho. She was the second of three children. Lisa was raised in Pocatello, Idaho and graduated from Pocatello High School. She worked for Ma Bell as an operator and moved with her two sons to Salt Lake City in 1961 where she continued her formal education and worked for AT&T until retirement. Lisa loved her family and adored her cats.
She will always be remembered for her kindness and acceptance of everyone she met. Her positive attitude toward life brightened her path and the paths of all around her especially those whom she cared for and loved.
She is survived by her two sons, Randall Brent Wheeldon and G. Stephen Wheeldon and her daughter-in-law, Jean B. Wheeldon. Lisa is also survived by two grandchildren, R. Sean Wheeldon and Stephenie W. Brost and one great-granddauther, Kyla C. Brost as well as a niece, Ooma Menlove and a nephew, Digger F. Short.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Robert R. Short and Odell H. Short. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers and hospice nurses from CareGivers Support Network who took such loving care of Mom.
Memorial services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive, at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28. A viewing will be held Thursday, June 27th at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and again on Friday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service.
