It is with great sadness we say goodbye to Galen Richard Dale who passed unexpectedly on Sunday, March 20th, 2022. Galen was born June 2nd, 1950, and was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from West High and entered the Navy for a 4-year enlistment in California until 1974. After which, he returned to Utah and worked for Fetzer Woodworking. He was afforded the opportunity to travel all over the U.S. and abroad working on custom cabinets for Apple. He proudly retired from Fetzer in 2016.
He had a love for baseball and softball. Was an avid golfer with a mean swing. He enjoyed playing tennis and was so proud when he finally out scored his dad. He had a great love for the outdoors. He had a huge heart and was Paula’s knight in tie dye armor. He was a loving cat dad and rescued as many as he could get away with. Galen was an amazing storyteller and the life of the party. He was young at heart and could always be counted on for fun and play. Grandkids were excited to come over and play with his huge collection of toys and he was happy for the excuse to add to the collection.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lucille Dale; and Shelley Dale (wife).
Survived by current wife, Paula Dale; Daughters, Shannon Dale (Heather), Sara Dale Simmons (Brent), Ashley Dale Savage (Jake); Stepchildren Rebecca Richardson (Jared), Ryan Pugh, Aubrey Martinez (David), Adam Pugh, Siandra Martinez, Janessa Martinez and 16 grandchildren. Sister: Nancy; Brothers: Gordon and Brian.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life and will be contacting family and friends of Galen with additional information.
