Gladys Nora Dickens Cooper passed away on May 20, 2024, in Cottonwood Heights, Utah at the age of 99. Gladys was born in Woods Cross, Utah on October 19, 1924, to parents, Daniel Davey Dickens and Edith Pallett Dickens.
She attended both Inglewood and South High, graduating from South High School in 1941. She met and later married Alvin Nunn Cooper, on October 26, 1946, in Farmington, Utah. Together they had two children, Connie and Micheal, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Gladys experienced many tragedies in her 99 years, but she stayed positive through it all. She had a life full of love and laughter, especially with her spicy sense of humor. She was always up for a good time, a delicious hamburger, her favorite chocolate chip cookies, or a cup of scalding hot tea….. as long as her hair and makeup were perfect. She was absolutely stunning with the most beautiful skin and sparkling blue eyes, even during her last days.
Gladys is proceeded in death by her husband, Alvin Nunn Cooper, son, Micheal Alan Cooper, granddaughter, Pyper Cooper, grandson, Chandler Cooper, sisters, and brothers-in-law, Eileen(Tone), Amelia(Tommy), Kathleen(Curt), Ray Cooper, Frank Cooper(Hazel), Bob Cooper(Miriam), nieces, Sheryl Vollmer, Carolyn Cooper, and dear friend, Don Kay.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Connie Jean Ford(Hal), grandchildren, Melissa Ford Parrish(Eric), Josh Ford, Megan Andrews(Matt), Jacob Ford, Tina Hughes, Tory Barone, great-grandchildren, Ava Parrish, Zoe Parrish, Grace Andrews, Gentry Andrews, Halle Andrews, Nick Ford, nieces and nephews, Pam Martin(Chuck), Diane Nabor, David Mestek(Linda), Sharon Porter, Doug Cooper, Eddy Cooper, and the Vollmer kids: Jeff, Jill, Julie, Joy, John, Jane, and Jimmy.
The family would like to offer a very special thank you to dear Selu Lautaimi for the exceptional care she received from her, Canyon Hospice, and all of the staff at Truewood Memory Care Facility.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary and Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held at 1:00 pm with a graveside service at 2:00 pm, and light refreshments served at 4:00 pm.
