Grace LaVern Young Wilcox beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-gandmother passed away peacefully with family by her side in Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 12, 2016, at the age of 92. Born in Union, Utah, on August 22, 1923, to Charles Angus and Alice Victoria Young. Married Richard D. Wilcox July 20, 1943, in the LDS Logan Temple.
Grace was an active member of the LDS church. She loved children and enjoyed serving as Junior Sunday School coordinator, Primary teacher and Sunday School teacher. Her greatest pleasures were her family and the family cabin she and her husband built, spending much time there with family and friends. During the space race, she worked as an electronics tester for Litton Industries. Later she worked for Beehive Medical Electronics. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan.
She is survived by her two sons Richard (Rosalie) Wilcox, Paul (Shirley) Wilcox, her daughter Susan Stockdale, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister, Donna Thomas, and many, many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Wilcox, her parents, her brother Melvin Young and two sisters, Laura Chamberlain and Mary Christensen.
The family wishes to extend our gratitude to the loving caregivers at Danville Support Services, Tender Care Hospice and The Residence of CareSource Hospice.
