Herbert Ludwig

Herb was born June 24, 1924 in Germany and emigrated to the United States at the age of 5. He worked throughout his life to be both a loving support to his family and a kind servant to his church and community. He married his sweetheart, Joyce Nickle on March 20, 1953. His devotion and affection for Joyce grew with each year of their 60 year marriage. Herb attended Grantsville High School and graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors in Political Science. He eventually served in the Utah legislature in the late 1960's as well as serving five LDS missions throughout his life.

Herb is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Ludwig and by his children, Connie Houston (husband, Bob); Gerda Orrock (husband, Chris); Rolf Ludwig; Gina Martinez (husband, Joel); Colista Fletcher (husband, John); Leona Keesling (husband, Byron); Frieda Gillett (husband, Randy); Jaleen Flygare (husband, Rob); Heidi Barlow; 45 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Herb will be both remembered and revered for his kindness, generosity, intelligence and character. The world is a better place for having had Herb among us. He will always reside in our hearts.

Viewing services will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 5th at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 S. Highland Dr. and one hour prior to his funeral which will be held July 6th, 10 a.m. at the LDS Chapel 7255 S. 2200 W.
