

Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend Imogene P Roosendaal, age 77 passed away on August 5, 2015 after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Imogene was born on June 10, 1938 in Gilmer, Texas, the daughter of Nathan and Mamie Pilcher. She married Dean Walter Roosendaal in Salt Lake City. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dean Walter Roosendaal. She is survived by two sons, Kevin Roosendaal and Wesley Roosendaal, four grandchildren, Kyla, Macy, Jasmine, and Joshua and two great-grandchildren. Imogene graduated from Gilmer High in 1956 and participated in many school activities. She grew up in a large family with seven brothers and three sisters. After High School, Imo moved to Salt Lake City and began working on her cosmetology license. For many years, she practiced and taught cosmetology in the Salt Lake City area; she loved teaching. She was one of the best Beauticians in Utah, winning several awards for her hairstyles in the 70’s. Imogene loved artwork, planting flowers, and working in her yard. She loved to dress up in nice clothes and to go to plays and operas with her friends. Her passing saddens our hearts and she will be deeply missed. The family expresses appreciation for the exceptional care she received from her in-house caregivers.
