Judy was born in Ogden, Utah to Donna Bott and Wynn Hansen. Judy is the oldest of five children. She grew up in Clearfield and Brigham City, Utah. She graduated from Davis High School and married Joel Millard. They lived in Farmington and raised four children in the Big White House.
Judy worked at Lagoon Amusement Park offices and at the State Tax Commission. During her work life she made many good friends and created cherished memories through photos, phone calls, lunches and dinner dates.
Judy enjoyed needlework, reading, scrapbooking, quilting, gardening, puzzling, traveling and getting together with friends and family.
She shared her creations with family and friends and kept records of her favorite memories in her scrapbooks for all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved celebrating and decorating for holidays – a lot!
She adored traveling to new places and especially the National Parks and as many lighthouses as she could find (climbing the steps to the top whenever possible). She read all about the places she visited -often bringing home booklets and stories about the area. She always had her camera at the ready to capture the moment.
Judy was a devoted fan of the Denver Broncos and the Utah Jazz. Anyone who knows her, understood Pepsi was her drink of choice! Her collection of Pepsi signs and Denver Broncos paraphernalia is quite extensive. She was very proud to own a share of Pepsi stock, a retirement gift from her Tax Commission family.
Judy’s family will miss being with her very much. Her children are: Jolene (Steve), Kim (Melissa), Julee, and RJ (Hawk); her siblings are: Wynn (Karen), Marge (Ryan), and JoAnn (Mark); her grandchildren are: Sarah, Joe, Kate, Matt, and Taylor; and her great-grandchildren are: Anna, Sophia, and Westley.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Donna and Wynn, as well as her step parents, Evelyn and Stu.
We are so grateful to everyone who all supported her and her family over the last three years. Especially Michelle, JoAnn, Marge and Wynn – who along with her children comprised “Team Judy!” Their compassion and thoughtfulness made her journey brighter and kept her laughing through the hard times.
Special thanks to Dr. Wei and all the additional nurses and staff at Huntsman Sugarhouse Clinic for their care.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Elephant Nature Park, Save Elephant, or Ocean Conservation Namibia.
She admired the work of these organizations and spent many enjoyable hours watching youtube videos of the amazing elephants and heroic seal rescues.
