

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Kathryne Waller Maxfield O'Donnell passed away peacefully on September 1, 2015, surrounded by her three children. She was born to Daniel Kimbrew & Loni Still Waller in Shawmut, Alabama on September 29, 1922. She met her first husband VerNile E. Maxfield durning WWII in Birmingham, Alabama, while she was attending nursing school and he was serving in the Army. They married on December 2, 1945, and following her conversion to the LDS Church, were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1947. Although they later divorced, there always remained a fondness between them. After relocating to Massachusetts for a work assignment in 1976, she met and married Michael P O'Donnell in 1977. They moved to Monmouth, Maine, where her children and grandchildren loved the many visits to their home on Cobbosseeconte Lake, golfing with her at the nearby golf course, and sailing on "Someday" out of Boothbay Harbor. She and Mike were able to travel extensively and her grandchildren loved to receive postcards from exotic spots around the world. Kathryne is survived by her three children: Kent V. Maxfield (Jenny) of Cedar Hills, Utah; Marsha Kilgore (Ed) of Highland, Utah; and Brian W. Maxfield (Jan) of Cedar City, Utah; step-chldren John O'Donnell; Brian O'Donnell (Deedee); Kathy O'Donnell; Lousie Martin (Jeff); and Margaret Jardine (Tom); 26 Grandchildren and 42 Great-grandchildren; and a brother Alvin (Lee) Waller. She was proceded in death by her husbands; her brothers Charles and Jessie Waller; her sister Martha Johnson, and her great-grandson Jacob T. Webb. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Highland 22nd Ward Chapel located at 9600 North 6000 West, Highland, UT. A viewing will be held prior to the services, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Mortuary: Jenkins-Soffe.
