Lori was daughter of Eldon Jay and Gloria Cardon Alsop and sister to Dale, Dennis, Julie and Bryan Alsop. Born on June 6 and raised in Holladay, Utah, attending Cottonwood High and University of Utah. R Brian Dabling was her partner and companion for 43 years.
Lori was State Project Manager for Utah Department of Transportation when she retired in 2014.
As an avid hobbyist, outdoors person, and student of human nature, Lori loved to paint in the studio and out of doors, recreating New Mexico Colonial art, landscape photography, and was learning how to fuse glass. She was a master of making meaningful handmade holiday cards. Each of Lori's creations included something personal reflecting the woman she was. She and her husband loved hiking, backpacking, biking, tennis, and traveling, especially in Southern Utah. Lori was engaged artistically, spiritually, and intellectually to the end of her life on July 21.
Beloved and admired by many who she inspired, our lover of laughter will be dearly missed.
