We were privileged to have this sweet spirit in our family for ninety-four years! From the beginning she loved taking care of people and making a difference in their lives by her generous acts of service. She came from a family where money was scarce but love and laughter were not. She married Kenneth Tolpingrud and together they had five children, Kenneth, Daryl (deceased), Diane, Randall and Denice. She loved being a wife, mother and homemaker. Her spaghetti made with her bottled tomatoes will be remembered by all. Her great love of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was expressed by all the time she managed to spend with each and every one of them over the years. To this day her grandkids believe THEY are her favorite!
After living a healthy and full life for eighty-three years, she suffered from an aneurysm and was forced to rely on help for the first time. For eleven years she quietly dealt with this challenged but never complained. She was admitted to a hospice center but was asked to leave after an extended stay that set a new record for that facility. Her heart was too strong and she wasn't ready to leave us. Finally, another stroke took what remaining strength she had and she reluctantly left us... moving happily into the welcoming arms of the family that went before her and have missed her so much. She will finally meet the little son she never got to hold.
Lucille Katherine Swift Tolpingrud...A life so well lived! We love you...your family.
