Born in Sydney, Australia, on September 8, 1966 Margaret (or Margie as we knew her) was the 6th of 8 children. From an early age, in a large family environment, her outgoing, bubbly nature was very evident and it did not take long for her trademark sense of humor to come to the fore. Her unique laugh and her readiness for a joke were traits to which all the people who knew her would testify, with those of us in her family “copping” it the most!
Moving on from high school she graduated into the IT world, working for Computer Science Corporation, at first, here in Australia.
Within CSC, she expanded to support work in the United States initially with mining companies in Elko, Nevada. Through CSC and further companies, her career moved her eastward across the US, living in Salt Lake City, Savannah and finally back to Salt Lake.
As all her friends and family would testify, Margie would always be an “Aussie” never losing her characteristic accent, regularly coming back home for visits and family celebrations. She did, however, love the United States - the time she spent there, the lifestyle it afforded both she and Dave, the many travels throughout the great country and most importantly the friends that she met, many of whom would become her “second family”.
Margie’s disposition was such, that whomever she met, she was instantly liked. She was a respected and much-loved colleague and always a fiercely loyal friend. We will miss her deeply, that wonderfully infectious laugh, her larger-than-life personality and her zest for life. Deeply loved by her wonderful and devoted husband and adored by her family, friends and fur babies.
Her recent health struggle was but brief and she gave such a valiant fight, rest now in peace, dear Margie.
