Marjorie Elaine Turney, age 75, passed away on Tuesday July 5, 2016 peacefully in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marjorie was born on February 2, 1941 in Arizona where she attended Arizona State University and obtained her nursing degree. Thereafter, she served in the Air National Guard as a nurse, where she met her husband Kenneth D Turney, now deceased. After her honorable discharge, she moved to Big Bear Lake, California, and began raising her two sons, Kevin and Eric Turney. She was an active mother who supported her sons in each endeavor, and “chased” them as they skied all over the country and world. Never leaving her camera behind, she continued to capture every moment of her kid’s life. She carried this on with her grandchildren, Alexander, Olivia, Gretchen, Garret and Anja. Never missing a moment, she attended every soccer game, basketball, game, ski race or other event and always was the biggest supporter and cheerleader on the sidelines. Her family and preserving every moment was her life. Her gracious and unselfish desire to support everyone, she never missed taking pictures of any friends of her kids or grandkids, was a staple of her generosity and caring demeanor. Never one to sit quietly, she loved interaction with friends and family, and always had a smile on her face as she communicated on any subject; always one who loved being social and interactive. She loved dressing up and looking presentable, which carried on to her love of attending Calvary Baptist Church. Always ready to be in her “church best” and loving to dress up on any occasion. She was a mother, grandmother, friend and most importantly, caregiver to all she met. She is survived by her two sons, Kevin and Eric; her grandchildren Alexander, Olivia, Gretchen, Garrett, Anja; her two brothers William Jacobson and George Jacobson, and sister Caroline Hartshorn. Her celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church.
