Monte was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Karen V. and Leo M. Bertagnole, Jr. on January 26, 1960.
Monte graduated from Wasatch Academy college preparatory boarding school in Mt. Pleasant, Utah and later attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah.
In his younger years, Monte loved riding and working on his motorcycles as well as playing basketball and other activities with friends. He later worked in various parts of construction and would often talk about the many houses that he built in the past.
Although Monte lived with both physical and mental health issues, he never lost his quest for knowledge and curiosity to learn new subjects. He had an intense interest and fascination in all aspects of space exploration. If you look, you may see him in the stars at night.
Monte was a man of few words at times, but he was a very caring person and was liked by everyone that knew him. He would call his mother every night to check on her and make sure that she was ok. We love him, and we will miss him and his kind heart.
He is survived by his mother, Karen V. Bertagnole; sister, Brenda Bertagnole; brother, Kip Bertagnole and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo M. Bertagnole, Jr.
The family would like to thank all of the health care professionals that helped care for Monte over the years as well as the assisted living and hospice care staff that were always so kind to him.
A private service and burial for Monte was held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Salt Lake City, Utah.
