As a Rowland Hall family we are so sad to hear of this amazing persons passing. So young but so much light they shined while here on Earth. May you find peace knowing how many lives they touched.

Two years ago, my friend and I had our 20th birthday party at the Sellwood river front in Portland. Nervously waiting for people to show up, I heard a loud and happy-sounding voice approaching our campfire- it was Oliver. I had never met Oliver in my life, neither had any of my friends, but he joyfully introduced himself and we instantly fell into conversation. We both laughed about how we had never met- yet here he was, the first guest at my birthday party. I remember he was so enthusiastic and kind to every person and made sure that everyone felt heard and understood. I never really spoke or crossed paths with Oliver again, but I remember that night so fondly and how warm and caring Oliver was, to everyone. I’ll carry the memory of him forever. His presence will be missed.

Kara Stuart Lewis and Gordon Lewis

I worked at the coffee shop on Lewis and Clark Campus for almost 3 years. I had thousands of interactions with customers that I've forgotten, but I remember when Oliver came in! He was so kind and bubbly, taking the time to ask the baristas how we were doing and chat with us. He introduced himself to me and we chatted for a few minutes about classes, Jewish life on campus, etc. I never got to know him well but he was such a positive force on campus, with so much kindness and joy. My utmost condolences to their family and friends, may his memory be a blessing <3

Oliver's was a really uniquely special relationship to me. We didn't really text, but he was always there for me when I needed him. He was perfect. I never saw them unhappy, always he was brimming with positivity and this vibrancy you really don't see in a lot of people. They were strong, both physically and emotionally, and so unapologetically himself. I can't believe I'm never going to run into him again at the perfect time, get the best back hug I'll ever get, hear the craziest happenings from his life. My life is so much less vibrant without him in it.  My sincerest, sincerest condolences to his family and friends back in Utah.
