

He was born February 11, 1927 in Sandy, Utah to Rufus and Velma Benton.
Paul served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After returning home he graduated from the University of Utah with a masters in electrical engineering.
Paul married his adored wife, Marilyn Ottinger, on April 25, 1952. He always put her first and stayed happily married for 62 years.
Paul was a successful businessman starting his own company at age 30. Benton Corporation was a leading provider of Industrial temperature controls and Energy Management Systems in Utah, Wyoming and Idaho for 35 years.
Paul loved learning anything new. He kept up with the latest technology and thoroughly researched everything before taking off on his many travel adventures, many of which included his entire family. He made it a point to visit every state and traveled the world with his wife.
He loved to ski, and taught his family to love and excel in the sport. He played handball and racquetball well into his eighties, making many friends at the Deseret Gym and Sports Mall.
Paul was a kind, generous and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was the linch- pin that kept the family close together. We love him. We miss him.
Paul is survived by his wife and four children, Steve (Ann) Benton, Richard (Jil) Benton, Jane (Grant) Jones and Lyn (Constantin) Martin, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, brother David (Marvel) Benton and sister Nita (Phil) Bryson. Preceded in death by grandson Anthony Martin, brothers Lloyd Benton, Daniel Benton,and John Eldon Benton.
