On the evening of Saturday, December 12, 2020 our beautiful baby girl acted on an impulse we will never know, and are never meant to understand. Through the heroic efforts of her brother Ethan, her mother Rebecca and an incredible group of professionals, many of whom knew our family, we were able to keep this beautiful angel alive until the stars aligned to give her tomorrows to others through organ donation.
Our beautiful baby girl came into this world on June 20, 2005. Rachel’s Mother Rebecca J. Levine and her Father EJ Hinterman welcomed her and proudly watched as she made the world a brighter and better place with every precious breath she took.
A short 18 months later, Rachel became a big sister to Ethan. I was always envious of the relationship they had and the love they shared (although Rachel is probably mad that I just announced that). Their love will be an inspiration forever to anyone who has known them.
Rachel loved animals and often told me she wanted to be a veterinarian like her beloved Aunt Molly.
Rachel had an immediate, positive impact on everyone she met. She had a smile that would lighten the darkest of hearts with one look. She had many friends, many of whom considered her their best friend. There have been so many friends from Alta High School, USA Metro, Congregation Kol Ami community, The Mcgillis School, and countless other groups and communities she has impacted. In her short life she affected so many people that it is impossible to mention them all here.
Rachel is survived by her Mother Rebecca J. Levine, her Father EJ Hinterman, her bonus Mom Tammy Hinterman, Her Brother Ethan Hinterman, Bonus siblings: Shannon Rowley (Sherokee), Aubree Jensen (Alex), Connor Rowley, Jaden Brown, Gavin Brown, Her Grandparents Nancy Levine, Ed Hinterman and Renee Hinterman, Uncle Mark Levine (Molly) and beloved cousins Audrey and Betsie. She is also a proud aunt to Sterling, Piperlynn, Jameson, and Kendrick.
Rachel was preceded in death by her Aunt Tiffany Hinterman and her Grandfather Arnold Levine.
Please look out for each other. Suicide is real, struggle is real. Please ask the hard questions. Please use the following resources or reach out to ANYONE. We can all honor Rachel’s memory by loving and supporting those around you. We can all honor Rachel by surviving!
