Richard Jackson Andersen,86, died March 9, 2011 in a Salt Lake City hospital surrounded by family. He was born April 3, 1924 in Salt Lake City to Joseph & Dorothy J. Andersen. He attended South High; graduated 1942. Served his country during WWII in India, Burma and China. Married La Rae Crane on May 13, 1949. He worked at the Fisher Brewing Co and Lucky Lager Brewery for 25 years. Retired from Van Waters & Rogers in 1989. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS holding many leadership positions including Bishop of the Richards II ward, stake missionary and family history consultant. He loved fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoyed the annual family reunion/camping at Shady Dell. He loved being with his family celebrating special occasions and hosting holiday parties. He cooked the best turkey in the world. Survived by his wife of 62 years, sons Mark (Diana), Doug (Lorie), daughter Shelley Noyce, 4 grandsons (Scott & Jeff Noyce, Colton & Chad Andersen) & 4 great-grandchildren (Ryan, Kara & Will Noyce & Jaxon Andersen). Preceded in death by parents, 2 brothers (Joseph & Wallace) & sister La Von (Bonnie) Andersen Newman. Funeral service at 12 noon, March 14th, Richards Ward, 855 Garfield (1850 South). Viewing Sunday, March 13th, 5-7 pm, Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr. and one hour prior to service.
