Robert Maycock

Robert J. Maycock, 74, passed away September 18, 2012.

Bob was born on November 26, 1937 in Salt Lake City Utah to parents Richard B. Maycock and Judy Benzon Maycock. Bob was married to Eileen Foote Maycock for 46 years. She preceded him in death eight years ago. Together they raised one son, Bob B. Maycock who was the light of their lives.

Bob graduated from West High School in 1955. Until his health began to fail, he was instrumental in helping to plan all of West's class reunions, most recently his 50th. Bob was an avid sports enthusiast. He attended every baseball and football game his son ever played. He also spent many years coaching football, baseball and basketball for Olympus and Skyline youth sports leagues. Bob retired at the age of 50 from American Brands where he was a salesman. His charismatic personality and charm made him very successful in the industry.

Bob spent many years at the Sports Mall exercising and staying fit. Equally as important, his time there was spent cultivating and maintaining dear friendships. Bob has several lifelong friends that he refers to as his "McDuck Club".

Bob adored his grandchildren Grace and Gavin whom he lovingly referred to as "Gumba" and "Pistol". They will always remember their Saturday lunch dates with Papa.

He is survived by his son Bob B. Maycock, daughter in law Gail Mackey, grandchildren Grace and Gavin. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Eileen and his brother Michael.

The family invites you to share a final goodbye and share some memories with us on Tuesday September 25, 2012 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive. Visitation will begin 12:30 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
