Ron was born March 14,1934 to Harold Dee and Mae Lowther Dee in Salt Lake City, Utah. After graduating from Granite High School, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Charlene Chard on July 23, 1952. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity and enjoyed their life together being the proud parents of six children. One of Ron’s greatest joys in life was taking care of and helping his family. He was always very generous, loving, caring and supportive to his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids and found joy in all of their accomplishments.
Ron began his career in the wholesale plumbing and heating industry at the Crane Company. Through his hard work and dedication, he eventually opened his own business. Dee Supply first opened in Sandy and successfully expanded to other locations in Orem, Ogden, and St. George.
Hard worker by nature, Ron was a true cowboy at heart. After he sold his business and retired in 1988, he was finally able to fulfill his life-long dream of becoming a rancher. Over the next 25 years, he owned, improved, and operated three ranches in Idaho where his family made many treasured memories. He also had a great love for horses that included chariot racing, flat racing, and horse breeding. A gifted artist, he left many wonderful paintings for his family to enjoy.
Infamous for his silly jokes and great sense of humor, Ron could make anyone laugh. Ron was deeply loved and respected. He was very kind to everyone he worked and associated with. He had an extraordinary impact on those he met and a natural gift for making everyone feel important and special.
Survived by his loving wife; his five children, Scott (Jan) Dee, Mark Dee, (Reinhard) Kauffmann, Penny (Bret) Beesley, Diana (Shawn) Player, Bonni (Todd) Sylvester; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren (with 2 more on the way); and brother Bob (Liz) Dee. Preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Tracy Dee Kauffmann.
Dad, thanks for always being the best example of true love and devotion and for taking such great care of us. We love you so much!!!!
Ron’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Neuroworx and his wonderful therapists, Matt and Mike, who, with their expertise and his determination, helped him walk again. We also want to thank the doctors and care-givers that helped to make him as comfortable as possible for the past 2 years. A special thanks to Heidi, Tara, Kali, Wanda, and his beloved "Huck" - we appreciate your compassion and care more than you will ever know.
