

She had previously triumphed over Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer. Her final moments were spent surrounded by her loving family in her home on Eastcliff Drive in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Sandra was born on December 28, 1941, in Rockford, Illinois, to Forrest Schmittel and Constance Stuckey. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and Bill Schmittel, and is survived by her sisters Darla Walters and Connie Johnson.
In 1963, Sandra married Joseph Collard (1926–2014). they had five children: JV (Israel), David, Robyn (Jay) Mattson, Melanie (Walt) Gallagher, and Shane. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Sandra had an adventurous spirit; there was rarely a day when she wasn’t planning something from her bucket list. She loved traveling—especially with her children—and among her many adventures, she climbed Mount Fuji, parachuted from an airplane and white water rafted in Costa Rica.
She was a steadfast presence in the lives of those who knew her—a rock to her family and friends. Known for her kindness, hard work, and fierce love, Sandra was always thinking of others and found countless ways to help those in need.
Professionally, Sandra dedicated 17 years to Franklin Covey, where she served as the Senior Director of Warehouse Operations. Her leadership, integrity, and compassion left a lasting impact on her colleagues.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the LDS Church located at 4407 S Fortuna Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84124.

Sandra lived her life with purpose, passion, and love. Her strength, laughter, and warmth will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
