After graduating from East High School, Sandra married William Humphrey, and they had two children. Following their divorce, she attended Westminster College, where she discovered her love for writing and completed her degree in English at Cal State Los Angeles. She then entered the workforce, skillfully balancing family and career. On December 7, 1999, she married Jerry L. Clegg, and together they traveled the world.
Sandra was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed music, reading, and spending time with friends and family. She never missed an opportunity to give back to the community, whether through events, fundraisers, or volunteering with People Helping People.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Gerald Hansen (Sharyl) and Patricia Huntsman (Courtney); and her son, Christopher Humphrey (Marie). She is survived by her children, Carter Humphrey (Gwynne), Geraldine Watson, Cameron Clegg (Dusty), Natalie Hughes (Calvin), Julie Clegg, Christopher Clegg (Chauntelle), and Jennifer Miller (John); her daughter-in-law, Marie Humphrey; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Sandra had many friends—far too many to mention. She was a true defender of the underdog, including—and especially—family. Every child she met was her child: someone to be loved and cherished.
The family would like to express their gratitude to her nephew, Doug Huntsman, for his many years of support and care for Sandra; her grandchildren, Eric and Alexis Humphrey; all who helped and visited her; and Mike Sanders from Hospice Services for his compassionate care during her final days.
A service will be held for Sandra on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 12 PM at The Skaggs Memorial Chapel at the First Baptist Church of Salt Lake City. Visitation one hour prior, reception to follow.
A private interment will take place in Heber City.
