My mom was born in Salt Lake City to my grandparents Anthony Ray and Merilyn Beth Brown. She lived in Holladay in a house on Spring Lane. My mom graduated from Cottonwood High School and went on to become a paramedic. She was still living in Salt Lake but she was on call as a paramedic stationed in Wendover. Mom actually met my Dad, Chris, on a call because he witnessed a girl around age thirteen crash on her bicycle and he’d called for an ambulance. My mom actually got mad at my dad for moving the girl into his car where he had the heat on for her. He explained that she'd walked with a cracked femur to his car and that he hadn’t moved her. Their paths crossed again about two weeks later at the apartment complex the paramedics used in between calls. He was also staying at the complex. My dad recognized my mom as the paramedic that saved the girl who crashed on her bike. He asked my mom about how she was doing. He also asked my mom out on a date and got her number. They got married December 22, 1989. They lived in their first apartment in Sugarhouse where they fell in love with their first dog Jaxson. She retired when they had their first child together Cody, born in 1992. My parents moved to their house in West Jordan and had their other two children, Mallerie in 1994 and Nathan in 1998. My mom was a dedicated homemaker. She loved her kids. She would always take us places like the library, Hogle Zoo, the park, or just let us play outside. My parents cemented in a basketball hoop, playground set, giant sandbox, and trampoline to ensure we were always outside having fun. My mom was an extremely talented seamstress. She made curtains for the house, several of our Halloween costumes, a few dresses for me, and my wedding cardigan, just to name a few. My mom was the life of the party, even embarrassingly so but I loved going shopping with her and being a goofball. We always had a good time making fun of the clothes that were “in style.” My mom was also the biggest cheerleader in my life. She always made a point to tell me how proud she was of me and how grateful she was for our close relationship. I’m grateful for the time that we got to share so much of each other’s lives. I’m eternally grateful that she set my foundation for the gospel by teaching me to pray to my Heavenly Father each night. We will honor her in our family forever. She is survived by her husband Chris Swain and her children Cody Swain, Mallerie Green, and Nathan Swain and her grandchildren Trinity, Mina, and Adrian Green.
