Thaddeus Edmund Liszkowski, 55, passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 12, 2024, in Fresno, California. Thadd will always be remembered as kind and loving and, in his way, a renaissance person, lifelong advocate for human and animal rights, and lover of nature.
He graduated from the University of California/Santa Cruz with a degree in Computers and Sociology with an interest in artificial intelligence. After working at UC/Santa Cruz for a few years in the computer support department, he started his own computer consulting business and followed that by a short career as a Social Studies high school teacher. A move to Portland, Oregon, found him investing in housing and real estate development. After earning a master’s degree in psychology, while working as a chef, he counseled patients in a drug rehabilitation clinic. Thadd had a lifelong passion for cooking and loved to share his delicious meals with his family and friends. During his last few years, he worked as a self-employed licensed massage therapist and home health caregiver.
Thadd is survived by his father and mother, Ronald and Jo Ann, his sisters, Kristin and Rebecca (Matt), as well as his nieces and nephews, Benjamin, Wyatt, Savannah Joy, Owen, and Amelia Jo.
Thadd was loved and will be missed. May he rest in peace.
The Five Remembrances
Thich Nhat Hanh
I am of the nature to grow old. There is no way to escape growing old.
I am of the nature to have ill health. There is no way to escape ill health.
I am of the nature to die. There is no way to escape death.
All that is dear to me and everyone I love are of the nature to change. There is no way to escape being separated from them.
My actions are my only true belongings. I cannot escape the consequences of my actions. My actions are the ground upon which I stand.
