Val Pantone

The Servant of God, Val Pantone, loving husband, father, and grandfather, departed this life, surrounded by his family, on May 4, 2022. Born on May 5, 1945 in Ogden, Utah to Joseph Mario and Aliene Smedley Pantone. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1963 and attended Weber State College.
In his youth, Val enjoyed playing catcher on his baseball teams, golf, his Corvair and Vespa. He was a lover of the outdoors, animals and all of nature. He was an avid skier, sailor, hiker, fisherman, cyclist, and traveler. For much of his adult life he was a talented photographer and videographer. Professionally, Val was always on the cutting edge of technology and was sought out for his expertise. He worked at and managed Inkley’s for over 15 years. He left there to work with his father, running the family business, Pantone Music, that his grandfather began in 1906. He worked at Ultimate Electronics, was a partner at ATG Wireless, and a valued team-member at Best Buy in Murray.
Val was a very passionate person about his cars, lawn, Weber Grill, music, movies, hockey, Formula One, Mexican food and beer. Those who knew Val, will be forever blessed by his example of graciousness, humility, empathy, and sense of humor. His warmth, infectious laugh, and big heart will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Above all else, Val was devoted to his family and Orthodox Christian faith. He is survived by his adoring wife of 41 years, Theano Kouris Pantone, his children: Layne (Meghan) Pantone, Joey (Ashley) Pantone, Tiffany (Paul) Papageorge, Sam (Maria) Soter, and Elleney Soter; his grandchildren: Isaac, Demetri, Timothy, Arianna, Theadora, Aurelia, Lucca, and Enzo; his sister-in law, Mary (Gary) Barker; and his dogs Ziggy & Coco, as well as his many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and loving brother, Kent; his mother and father-in-law, Gust and Melva Kouris, his grandson, Sammy Soter; in-laws Tom & Charlene Polychronis, Helen Dikeou, Gaylen Robbins; his nephews Ted Dikeou & Kyle Polychronis, and his many beloved pets. May his memory be eternal.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, May 10 from 6-8 p.m. with a Trisagion service at 7 p.m. at St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church, 9201 South 1300 East in Sandy, Utah.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 11th at 12:30 p.m. at St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will follow at Holladay Cemetery, 4900 Memorial Lane, Holladay, UT.
