Veldon Everet Foil, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and patriot, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 6, 2025. Born on June 22, 1956, in Provo, Utah, to Charles and Aldwyth Foil, Veldon was the youngest of five children and cherished his role as the baby of the family. His strong sense of family and loyalty to those he loved were the foundation of his life.
Veldon’s greatest joy came from his marriage to Brenda Lee Peterson, whom he married on March 16, 1974, in Elko, Nevada. Their love for one another, which spanned 50 years, was an inspiration to all who knew them. Their bond was further sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 20th, 2013. Together, they raised four children and were blessed with nine grandchildren, all of whom were the light of his life.
Veldon had a deep love for his family and his pets, often found with a dog on his lap or cuddled up close. He was passionate about the outdoors, enjoying time camping and fishing whenever possible. He also took pride in his collections of M&M memorabilia and beer steins, hobbies that reflected his fun-loving nature.
A proud veteran, Veldon served in the United States Army for six years, including three years overseas. His patriotism was a core part of who he was, and he always carried that sense of duty with him.
Veldon’s legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Brenda Foil, his children Allison Jackson and Brandon Foil, his siblings Vicky Wallace, Wendy Burke, and Skip Foil, and his grandchildren Dallas Jackson, Shianna Foil, Veldon Foil, James Foil, Zeza Swarts-Vassar, Brayden Foil, Rextyn Foil, Alexa Foil, and Kinsley Foil. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Aldwyth Foil, his sons Veldon and Rodger Foil, and his sister Elaine Parker.
Veldon’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his influence will forever be felt in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and all who had the honor of knowing him.
